Friday – June 24th, 2011

The last Friday in the month of June, 2011 saw toastmasters from SIM I descend on NUSS Guild house to be a part of, and to celebrate the achievements of the outgoing EXCO while installing and showing their support to the new EXCO.

The toastmasters of the evening Guna & Pan Pan brought us together in cheer and celebration kicking the exciting evening to a festive start.

What followed was the welcome speech by the outgoing club President, Benjamin Lim, who took us all down memory lane as he reminisced the term gone by.

Now our guest of honor for the evening Ms Sherilyn Chua was invited to present the awards to the outgoing Exco. The outgoing Exco were cheered on by loud and heartfelt applause from fellow toastmasters for their devotion and untiring commitment to our club.

What followed was the installation ceremony for the incoming executive committee, lead by Area B3 Governor Ong Lye Sum, ACS, CL. The new executive committee was installed and fellow toastmasters rose to their feet reassuring the incoming exco of their support and commitment.

After the official installation of the new Exco was the most awaited “Incoming Presidents Address”. New Club President Patricia Lim, ATM-B, AL in a passionate and emotional speech called on fellow toastmasters to unite as the new exco promises to keep the club’s flag flying high.

What followed was the most exciting and fun part of the evening. Organizing chairman Tamil Chelvan, CC was buoyant as he spearheaded the fun & games segment of the night titles “Lion City”. The games united toastmasters young and younger in activities such as spooning the ping pong ball, jigsaw puzzles and bursting the “unbreakable” balloon. Toastmasters alike let loose as the festivities filled the air.

The fun & games drew to a close with the outgoing club President, presenting a token of appreciation to the organizing committee for the evening. The evening would not have been possible had it not been for the commitment of the following toastmasters:
